Narito ang 7 official entries para sa BABALA: Tanaw at Hininga – No Smoking and No Vaping IEC Signage Design Contest, isa sa mga patimpalak ng Tanaw at Hininga 2026! 👁️🌬️ Higit pa sa pagiging malikhaing disenyo, ang bawat entry ay nilikha upang magsilbing babala, mapagkukunan ng tamang impormasyon, at paanyaya tungo sa pagbabago—mula sa pagpapakita ng masasamang epekto ng paninigarilyo at vaping hanggang sa pagbibigay ng praktikal na hakbang para sa mga nagnanais magsimulang huminto. Last August 7, 2026, the Central Apas Youth Organization (CAYO), headed by Axel Tudtud, conducted a Feeding Activity at Apas National High School, in coordination with the Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB). Students from the afternoon session were the recipients of the activity, receiving not only nutritious food but also valuable information on the importance of making healthy and responsible choices. The activity demonstrated that caring for young people goes beyond providing for their physical needs—it also means equipping them with the knowledge and awareness to make safer and healthier life choices. Our heartfelt appreciation to CAYO, under the leadership of Axel Tudtud, for partnering with BKB in bringing this meaningful initiative to our learners.

Learning becomes more meaningful when schools share their experiences, innovations, and best practices. The Apas National High School – National Drug Education Program (NDEP) and Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB) warmly welcomed the delegation from Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School, headed by Ma’am Jocelyn L. Magdalaga, for a meaningful NDEP–BKB Benchmarking Activity. The visiting delegation included the school’s NDEP coordinators and BKB presidents, who actively participated in the exchange of ideas and discussions on effective drug-prevention programs, student leadership, and school-based advocacy initiatives. Welcoming the delegation were the Apas NHS NDEP Coordinator, the BKB officers, and Assistant Principal Ma’am Dahlia Domaolao, who shared the school’s practices, programs, and experiences in strengthening the implementation of NDEP and BKB. The activity provided both schools with an opportunity to share innovative and sustainable strategies toward creating safe, healthy, and drug-free learning environments. Through collaboration and mutual learning, both schools strengthened their commitment to empowering learners and expanding the impact of their advocacy programs.

Bantay 100 Anti-Smoking Campaign | Store Mapping

As part of the preparation for the Bantay 100: Smoke-Free School Zone Campaign, the Barkada Kontra Bisyo officers, headed by BKB President Andrei Gabriel Magbanua, together with Mr. Axel Tudtud and Kyle Austria of the Central Apas Youth Organization (CAYO), conducted store-to-store mapping within and near the 100-meter school zone of Apas National High School. Using the prepared reference map, the team identified stores, vendors, and establishments around the school, distributed invitation letters for the upcoming meeting and orientation, explained the activity’s purpose, and emphasized the importance of store owners’ attendance and cooperation in maintaining a smoke-free and vape-free school zone. The mapping also served as initial documentation of stores within the covered area and strengthened coordination among the school, youth volunteers, and surrounding community in support of One Safe and Breathable Apas.

GiyaPanimalay Strengthens Parents’ Role in Building a Safer School Community

On July 24, 2026, Apas National High School, through the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) and Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), conducted a brief parent orientation during the General SPTA Induction Program at the Apas NHS Grounds. The activity formed part of the Anti-Bullying, Anti-Drug, and Anti-Violence Campaign and the GiyaPanimalay Campaign under the One Safe Apas Project. It focused on the important roles and responsibilities of parents and guardians in protecting learners from bullying, drug involvement, violence, and other harmful behaviors. PCpl Harry L. Sorela, Chief SCAD PNCO of Mabolo Police Station 4, served as the guest representative and resource speaker. He emphasized proper parental guidance, close monitoring, open communication, early intervention, and coordination with the school and appropriate authorities. At the end of the orientation, parents and guardians completed a feedback form to share the new knowledge and insights they gained. Their responses will help guide the planning of future GiyaPanimalay activities. Through this initiative, Apas National High School continues to strengthen the partnership among the home, school, community, and law-enforcement agencies in promoting a safe, drug-free, violence-free, and child-friendly learning environment.

Bantay Kaligtasan Strengthens the Culture of Reporting at Apas NHS

From June 8–11, 2026, Apas National High School, through the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) and Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), conducted the Bantay Kaligtasan Reporting Mechanism Orientation as part of the One Safe Apas Campaign. Through a room-to-room orientation, learners were guided on how, when, and to whom they should report incidents or concerns involving bullying, drugs, vices, violence, and other threats to their safety. The campaign emphasized that no concern is too small to report and that speaking up can prevent further harm. Bantay Kaligtasan encourages every learner to remain vigilant, seek help from trusted school personnel, and contribute to creating a safe, caring, and responsive school environment.

One Breathable Apas Brings Tobacco-Free Advocacy Beyond the School Gates

On June 6, 2026, Apas National High School, through the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) and Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), partnered with the TobaccOff Now Movement in conducting a store-to-store awareness campaign within the community surrounding the school. The campaign informed store owners, operators, and vendors about the harmful effects of smoking and vaping, relevant policies regulating tobacco and vape products near schools, and their responsibility to help prevent learners from accessing these products. The activity reinforced the message that protecting young people requires the cooperation of the entire community. By working together with local businesses and advocacy partners, the school continues to promote safer, healthier, and smoke- and vape-free surroundings for every learner.

AbagHiusa Empowers Young Leaders for a Safer and Stronger Apas

On June 5–6, 2026, Apas National High School successfully conducted the AbagHiusa Program – Tier 1: ABAG Leadership Training, a two-day leadership and unity-building activity for the new members of Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB). With the guiding principle “Abag sa Usa’g Usa, Hiusa para sa Usa’g Usa,” the training equipped participants with essential skills in leadership, communication, values formation, peer support, and advocacy against drugs and violence. Team-building and trust-building activities also helped the members develop stronger friendships, cooperation, and a shared sense of responsibility. Conducted under the One Safe Apas Campaign in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Apas and the CoLink Youth Movement, the activity strengthened the commitment of young leaders to become positive role models and active advocates for a safe, drug-free, and violence-free school community.
